The Critical Infrastructure Analysis Group works with the Department of Homeland Security’s Protective Security Coordination Division to coordinate joint and concurrent federal, industry, and local emergency responder efforts to assess the security of commercial nuclear reactors and associated facilities, regional chemical facility grouping, and other parts of our Nation’s Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources.
Our efforts in this regard include:
- Helping develop a risk-based analysis of sector-wide vulnerabilities to inform protective measures investments and produce a measurable baseline of risk.
- Assisting with the development and deployment of teams of experts to conduct on-site assessments of Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources.
- Working with public and private sector stakeholders to craft site-specific reports and sector-wide comprehensive reports designed to reduce vulnerabilities and improve response coordination.
- Facilitating effective National, State, Local and Industry protective security coordination.
Past performances have included:
- Serving as the key architect of the Comprehensive Review Program, transforming an idea into a strategy, a plan, and finally an ongoing process. Since the program’s development, we have conducted reviews for all 65 Commercial Nuclear Reactors and Associated (Spent Fuel Storage) Facilities.
- Using lessons learned from Commercial Nuclear Reactors reviews to develop a similar review program for high-consequence chemical sector facilities and working with the Protective Security Coordination Division, industry, and federal agency representatives to compile findings.
