The Undersea Technology Assessment Group within SPA supports the Navy and other government organizations with timely and objective capability assessments, technology evaluations, and strategic planning that integrate the technical, operational, programmatic, policy, and business aspects of undersea warfare (USW) and broader Navy issues. UTAG provides mature, turnkey products that reflect all of the factors important to decision makers.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Applied Science, Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• 1+ years of experience working with and manipulating data using programming languages or analysis packages (e.g., MS Office VBA, SQL, C++, C#, VB .NET, Java, Python, SAS, R, or MATLAB or similar language).
• Critical thinking, problem solving, research, and strong written and oral communication skills are required.
• Must be proficient with the MS Office Suite of products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
• Experience or interest in mathematical optimization, particularly linear and/or integer programming is desired.
• Modeling and simulation experience using stochastic agent-based models is desired.
• Programming experience developing quick-turn analytic tools is desired.
• Experience in parametric analysis and design of experiments is desired.
• Must be eligible for a DoD Secret security clearance.

Job Description:
Responsible for conducting military effectiveness analysis of alternative capabilities to inform the development of formal requirements and program plans across the spectrum of science and technology (S&T), research and development (R&D), and program acquisition. Support and eventually take a leading role in the development and employment of modeling and simulation analysis tools and in briefing analysis results to top-level government decision makers.
  
    

Candidates must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Successful candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship required.
