The Strategic Operations and Acquisition Group supports USN Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) in analyzing, improving, and validating their ‘cradle to grave’ acquisition and operations programs and projects both technical and programmatic. The Associate Systems Engineer will be part of a team with experience in all facets of program planning including nascent requirements analysis, development, test, production, operations, sustainment, decommissioning, and demilitarization.  This position will also spend time at The Washington Navy Yard.
Requirements:
• B.S. Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science, or other technical degree is required.
• 0-3 years of experience in phases of systems engineering, including system design and development; system requirements definition; and schedule/budget analysis are required.
• Must be proficient in using MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with scheduling tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, AMS Realtime Projects) is a plus.
• Ideal candidates will have intellectual curiosity about major defense issues and an interest in impacting important decisions.
• Effective oral and written communication skills for working within a team environment are required.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment in support of analysis is required.
Job Description:
Support mid- and senior-level analysts and engineers in all aspects of the development and maintenance of a system, including requirements definition, system modeling, operations, performance, testing, manufacturing, cost and schedule, training and support, and procurement with a special emphasis on programmatic planning and budgets.

  
    

Candidates must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Successful candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship required.
