Senior level System Engineer to lead client support in program management and technical expertise for the execution of an integrated physical security system.  The Security Programs Group supports the management of complex safety, security, and reliability programs for High Reliability Organizations (HROs). We provide decision-support products that help senior-leaders integrate across the multi-faceted elements of large security programs. Our focus is on intelligent development of policies, procedures, organizational structure, security solution concepts, and Concepts of Operation (CONOPS) supported by integrative assessments (e.g., Modeling and Simulation (M&S), threat analysis, risk analysis) and verified by subject-matter-expert (SME) based inspections.

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering.
• 8-10 years of Systems Engineering and project management support experience.
• Experience in applying Model Based System Engineering.
• Experience in complex system architecture development.
• Experience in engineering requirements management.
• Experience in the identification and management of operational and programmatic (cost, schedule, and technical) risk.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. 
• Ability to manage priorities and meet client needs in a timely manner within a customer oriented atmosphere. 
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to senior audiences.  
• Ability to work independently, with minimal direction, and as part of a teams. 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Project, Power Point, Excel, Visio, and Word. 
• Active security clearance required.


• Previous broad-based systems engineering experience on technically complex programs.
• Previous military / government civilian (Navy preferred) experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Navy Strategic Weapons System program.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Navy Integrated Nuclear Weapons Security System program.
• Master’s degree in Systems Engineering.
• Use of the DoD Architecture Framework (DODAF).
• Use of the Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS).

Job Description:
Management in the development of a system-wide engineering architecture.  Lead development of a management structure to support model-based systems engineering and support program transition from paper-based approach.  Lead development of methodology to determine system effectiveness against identified critical capabilities.  Lead development of methodology to determine and compute required operational availability (Ao) of identified subsystems. Support system-level requirements management, including development, allocation, verification, and validation.  Manage the capture and representation of program-level operational and programmatic (cost, schedule, and technical) risk.  Verification of data supporting system effectiveness assessments and hardware qualification testing.  Maintain close and continual contact with the primary customer (GS15/O6 level) in the communication of needs and expectations.  Lead collaborative working groups, both internally and with customer stakeholders.  Develop relevant products and briefing their content to the customer and other stakeholders.  Manage personnel in the execution of the aforementioned responsibilities.  Mentor junior Systems Engineers and support both their certification process as well as their technical work.

Candidates must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Successful candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship required.
