SPA Corporate Development is responsible for all aspects of corporate growth for a $100M private equity owned company. Scope includes: marketing, pipeline management, business intelligence, opportunity capture, proposal development, differentiation and win strategies, company strategic plan and Annual Operating Plan, M&A support.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Knowledgeable of Government contracting and the Business Development (BD) processes.  
• Demonstrated BD skills including the use of Business Intelligence (BI) tools, conducting and reporting research on customers, contracts, competitors and markets, proposal writing, capture and proposal development support and strategic industry partnerships.  
• Must be a self-starter who takes initiative and works independently.
• Must be proficient with standard office software include Word, Power Point, Excel, Project; and with BI tools including GovWin.
Job Description:
Performs all aspects of the collection, analysis and dissemination of information/data about SPA’s business, its customers, its competitors/teammates, and the solutions and best practices of our business. Works with Business Development (BD) and Capture Leads to advance opportunities through the pipeline and develop winning proposals. Provide timely information products to the BD/Capture Team to provide SPA with a decision advantage, improve our performance and increase our ability to grow and expand the business.
• Business / Competitive Intelligence (BCI)
     o Perform market research to help SPA better understand market trends, prospective customer challenges and needs, and incumbent/competitor strengths and weaknesses.
     o Conduct research to support company profiles for select opportunities to identify and understand potential competition and partners, and to inform bid decisions, potential acquisition targets, teaming strategies, Price-to-Win and Black Hat reviews.
     o Proactively identify and disseminate market-relevant news clips and reports with summaries for Corporate Development and Operations Team review.
     o Research meetings/conferences associated with target markets and make recommendations on participation (general admission, exhibitor, technical panels) and corporate sponsorship.
     o Manages the use of Business Intelligence Tools and recommends improvements to include new tools that will enhance BCI capabilities
     o Generates BCI briefings, White Papers and Executive Summaries as needed to support customer engagements, business exchanges and strategic planning efforts.
• Strategic Partnerships
     o Develop and maintain a centralized repository of Competitive/Business Partner company contacts, products, services, customers, and notes on engagements/collaboration.
     o Track activities associated with advancing relationships and building synergies with preferred companies to include Large and Small Business Strategic Partners, Protégé Companies, and Joint Ventures. Track actions and report progress associated with pipeline reviews, teaming agreements and marketing/capture efforts associated with joint pursuits.
• BD/Capture Support
     o Apply Division Opportunity Filters to identify potential opportunities found through open sources (, Government Opportunity Forecast Systems, etc.) and present to the BD and Operations Management Team for consideration.
     o Develop, analyze and communicate business development metrics at the Division and Corporate level. Develop dashboards to present strength of pipeline and performance associated with maturing opportunities and advancing capture efforts.
     o Assist Legal and BD/Capture Leads with the development, review and execution of Non-Disclosure Agreements and Teaming Agreements in support of key pursuits.
     o Develop materials to support opportunity gate reviews, black hat sessions, win theme and solutioning workshops, proposal kickoff materials and proposal reviews.
     o Assist with RFI responses and white papers for published/unpublished government needs.
• Proposal Support
     o Assist Proposal Managers with coordinating data calls, organizing inputs and synthesizing information to create compelling inputs for proposal responses.
     o Participate in proposal reviews to assist with quality assurance and compliance.
     o Through formal and on-the-job training, develop the experience and skill sets to be a Proposal Manager
• Miscellaneous
     o Maintain internal BI SharePoint site to include: data/reporting repository, best practices, reporting, gate review coordination, etc.

Candidates must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Successful candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship required.
