The Guide Dog Foundation and America’s VetDogs provides expertly trained, highly skilled canines to support the visually impaired, veterans or first responders with PTSD, or those who need rehabilitation in a veteran’s hospital.

Among the most limiting factors on the availability of guide dogs or service dogs for those in need is a shortage of volunteers to raise the puppies.
This is where the SPA Puppy Fleet comes in!
CEO Rich Sawchak and the SPA leadership team have put the full support of the company behind SPA employees who are willing to raise puppies for the program.
We sponsor the socializing and initial training of puppies that will go on to be specially trained service dogs. We encourage staff to bring trainee pups to the office, be present during meetings, and feel at ease among us.

Puppy Paths
Between 14-18 months of age, dogs return to headquarters in Smithtown, NY to begin formal training with their dedicated team. Here, they are selected for four different career paths:
